I love this shot because it is, plain and simple, r.e.a.l. Two siblings who you’d swear are soulmates the way they adore each other. This shot captures it perfectly. It’s dark and grainy, the way it was intended to be shot – to keep the emotion and feeling in the image.

You’ve seen this family before on the blog – several times! (They were my very first blog entry, ever!) Today I’m beyond excited to report that Rob made it home safely, yesterday in the wee hours of the morning, from Afghanistan!

I want to thank Sheri and Rob for allowing me to photograph this part of their lives, it has meant the world to me to be able to do this – and I just wanted to share a few of the homecoming shots from yesterday down in Louisville.

This is Rob, above, as he came off the plane about to see his family for the first time in a LONG time. Thanks Rob, for all that you’ve done. You are a real hero.
